Product Review: Q-Redew Handheld Hair Steamer

Description from the Q-Redew website: The Q-Redew handheld hair steamer uses warm steam as mist to enhance your hair's natural volume and texture. The Q-Redew hydrates, reshapes and restyles dry hair in minutes.

1. Did it enhance your hair as promised? It depends on your definition of "enhance." It gave my hair a significant amount of hydration. It was soft and manageable enough to style easily. Running the heated prongs through my hair opened my cuticles to let in the moisture while stretching my hair at the same time.
(Note: I had to seal the cuticles right after.)

2. Why not just use a spray bottle filled with water to mist your hair? One word, shrinkage. For many curlies and coilies, water on the hair results in massive shrinkage and some would prefer to deal with this only on wash day, not to mention waiting for it to dry afterwards.

3. What didn't you like about the Q-Redew? The water reservoir is rather small. Depending on how much steam you prefer, you may have to refill it once or twice during a session.

4. Would you recommend this product?
I've had this product for well over a month now and I've used it a few times. I like the fact that it helps to reset my hair without having to drench it. I don't see myself using this product all the time, but I do like the idea of re-purposing it as a facial steamer. It is perfect to use just before washing or exfoliating your face.
